The Russian colonial prose (at the end and the beginning of the XIX–XX centuries) in view of the policy of the purposeful oblivion

In this article the author suggests the reasons of the oblivion of the creative works of the Russian writer of the end of XIX century N. N. Karasin who had attempted to objectively reflect the bloody events of the Russian colonization of the Middle Asia during the second part of the XIX century. His prose while being popular and resonating among his contemporaries and influential among his colleagues, fell out of the paradigm of the new propagandized discourse under the Soviet power.
