Surgical infection of soft tissues is the most common reason for seeking medical care in hospitals of general surgery. Treatment of these infections if often challenging. Complex of therapeutic measures to combat these diseases include surgery, systemic pharmacotherapy, and physiotherapy. In recent years, systemic pharmacotherapy is gradually yielding to local treatment with antibacterial drugs due to high frequency of adverse reactions to drugs, especially among elderly patients, who often have concomitant chronic diseases requiring treatment. Intra-lymphatic injections is an alternative option of antibiotic administration with no disadvantages of systemic treatment. The main aim of physiotherapy is to improve local blood flow in the affected area in order to facilitate the processes of tissue repair.
