Comfortable environment as a factor of sustainable development of the region (the case of St. Petersburg)

The article examines the problematic aspects of sustainable development of the region in the context of creating a comfortable environment. During the study, the concepts of "sustainable development", "comfortable environment", "improvement", "public space" were considered. Attention is focused on the Strategy for the socio-economic development of St. Petersburg until 2035. The most pressing problems of sustainable development of St. Petersburg are analyzed, based on the factor of creating a comfortable environment in the region. Based on the identified problems, comprehensive recommendations were formulated to optimize activities for the sustainable development of the region.
