Commissarov: on the role of the personality in the science of criminal law and the tasks of the doctrine at the present time

The seventieth anniversary of the undoubted leader in the organization of the sciences of criminal law, penal law and criminology, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Vladimir Sergeevich Komissarov, who lived a bright life and did a lot for the doctrine, is a good opportunity to remember this outstanding man and to discuss the role of personality in science, focusing on the mandatory components of the leader’s personality and on the tasks of the doctrine at the present time. In the criminal law science, the topic of the scientist’s personality has not been practically studied, and the problem of the main tasks of the doctrine is highly relevant, taking into account the changing socio-political realities.
