The article analyzes the communicative conception of J. Habermas about the role of a communicative mind in the modern information society. The communicative rationality, according to the thinker, is linked to the ethical principles of a social discourse. The essence of communicative action is a necessity to find and use the rational mechanisms in searching the ways to a consent. Mutual understanding, acceptance, argumentation, consensus are considered as the essential elements of the human interaction. A person comprehends one’s own life from the perspective of the good, not the suitability, while the reflection carried out in one’s consciousness presupposes a dialogue. J. Habermas in his communication theory proceeds from the prospect of mutual understanding and communicative participation.
