The article "Competence as leading factor of professional activity success in education system" is devoted to such topical issues of modern pedagogy as the value space of competence approach. The author of a scientific publication discusses various perspectives on the nature of competence approach, and also on its basic values, characteristics and options. Highly complex process of transformation of valuable space of teachers in the conditions of modernization changes of education is understanding and updating of values, characteristics and options of competence approach in teaching. The value analysis of competence approach was done on the basis of scientific theories of values of T. Haggard, I. Kant, M. Scheler, E. Fromm, A. Schweitzer, M. Weber, B. Shleder. The scientific article author proves that the current priority value of modern education is competence. And it is important to understand the difference between the designation of such scientific and applied categories as "qualifications" and "competence". Classical, traditional "qualification" means a functional correspondence between the demands of the workplace and the objectives of education, and training is reduced to the assimilation of more or less knowledge and skills standard set. "Competence" also involves the development of a man by more sophisticated ability to navigate in coordinate system of variety of complex, emergency and unpredictable situations, be aware of the consequences of its own activities, as well as readiness to take responsibility. The use of competence approach and identification of characteristic features of professional competence of educational activity subjects makes it possible to determine its formation as a leading factor in professional activity success in the education system.
