Computer photoplethysmography in the assessment of endothelial function

The article presents the results of a study of indicators of endothelial function in the formation of chronic venous insufficiency with postthrombotic syndrome of the lower extremities. All patients underwent computerized analysis of the volumetric pulse wave using photoplethysmography with the calculation of the index of endothelial function within 6 months of observation. Found that the index of endothelial function significantly reduced compared with that in healthy volunteers. The initial level of occlusion of the veins of the lower extremities affects the value of endothelial function. On the standard conservative therapy, endothelial function improves. The purpose of micronized purified fraction of flavonoids leads to a greater increase of endothelial function.
