The article provides the basic concepts and definitions of computer modeling methods used in mechanical engineering, including simulation, physical, mathematical, information methods, which have important applied value. Computer technologies based on the use of various types of modeling are described. Particularly noted is the role of mathematical and simulation modeling in modern computer-aided design systems for products and technological processes in mechanical engineering.
