Impact testing can be useful in a variety of applications including automotive, aviation, construction, defense and many others. They help determine how well a material or design can withstand impact loads and can help develop safer, more reliable products. Impact testing can be carried out in a variety of ways, including the use of special impact machines that create controlled shock loads, or by simulating real-life conditions such as collisions or explosions. Impact tests were carried out using a pendulum impact testing machine MK-15, and then a computer model was created to conduct virtual experiments. The results of full-scale experiments and numerical calculations are presented in the presented work.
