The training of engineering personnel includes mastering all the necessary competencies that allow solving modern engineering problems at a high professional level. Geometric and graphic disciplines are the basis of a well-trained specialist. Studying descriptive geometry, engineering and computer graphics is necessary in the modern world of digital technology. Therefore, to use classical tools (a ruler, a pencil, a compass) it is necessary to master and automate designing, which provides the ability to design, calculate and model objects of various complexity. The paper aims to develop a new methodology for performing computational and graphic work (CGW) in the training course “Engineering and Computer Graphics”, which allows you to move from a flat representation of the original and design surface to a visual form for the purpose of analyzing and determining optimization paths. The application of the resulting methodology will improve the efficiency of training engineering and construction personnel.
