Complex no. 15 at the Semiluki fortified settlement of the scythian epoch: anthropological research

Multiple burials performed within the territory of fortified settlements are rather rarely met with, yet at the Semiluki settlement they may be considered specific model of ritual activity, this feature marking the site among numerous fortified settlementsof the Scythian epoch. The article considers anthropological materials from one multipleburial at Semiluki. The accompanying set of pottery dates the complex to the 4th - 3rdcenturies BC. The anthropological series was analyzed according to the complex programof palaeoanthropological study. The discussed anthropological materials extend essentiallythe range of specific features the Semiluki site shows, basic one being multiple burials.Nonetheless the circumstances of death of the people buried in the complex remains areunclear, as well as the reason their corpses were disposed in unusual positions.
