This study aims to develop a comprehensive approach to assessing the effectiveness of business process automation in modern economic conditions. The research is relevant in the context of the digital transformation of Russian companies, driven by macroeconomic challenges and state digitalization policies. The objective of the work is to formulate a system of metrics for a multidimensional assessment of the impact of automation on an organization’s activities. The methodological basis is an integrated approach, including comparative analysis of scientific publications, data systematization, and modeling. As a result, a set of assessment metrics has been developed, and synergistic effects of automation have been identified, manifesting as a cascade of improvements in operational, financial, and other key performance indicators. It has been established that automation helps reduce operational costs, improve the quality of business processes, and optimize working capital management. The practical significance of the study lies in creating a toolkit to support management decisions in the field of digital transformation. The developed evaluation system is particularly valuable as it enables the consideration of both direct economic effects and the strategic advantages of implementing automated systems. The proposed approach can be adapted for enterprises across various economic sectors. Implementing the proposed metric system facilitates a shift from localized cost optimization to the comprehensive management of business process automation efficiency.
