Comprehensive assessment of rural development in the Murmansk region based on monitoring

Currently, the preservation and sustainable development of rural areas is among the priority and promising economic tasks in our country. The successful development of rural areas is influenced by a combination of factors: the balanced development of production areas, the social sphere of the village, the development of infrastructure, the availability of a sufficient number of jobs in various fields of production, a favorable environment. All this together provides a stable basis for the development and reproduction of the rural community. The article analyzes and evaluates 4 main aspects of socio-economic development of rural areas of the Murmansk region on the basis of monitoring. The purpose of monitoring is to form information about the main directions of development, the effective observance of which allows to objectively identify the dynamics of changes, gives a timely assessment of the level of their development and, ultimately, ensures optimal use of resources, stable development of territories and improvement of rural life in the medium term, which determines the relevance of the study. The main results of monitoring can be the basis for the development, analysis and evaluation by regional and local authorities of programs and projects for the socio-economic development of rural areas, which determines the practical significance of the study.
