Integrated treatment of periodontitis using antibacterial therapy

Resume: The article provides an overview of domestic and foreign literature on modern approaches to the complex treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases. The main directions of the work of researchers in the field of periodontology are reflected, the results of the studies conducted by the authors are analyzed, recommendations for practical healthcare are given. Various algorithms for the treatment of periodontal diseases using new drugs and physiotherapy methods are presented. The importance of an integrated approach to solving the problem, aimed at the correct combination of local and general treatment, as well as a rational solution to the issue of maintenance therapy is demonstrated. The analysis of the literature indicates that dentists are not satisfied with the existing methods of treatment of periodontitis, an extensive search for new, more effective methods of treating this pathology, allowing to obtain the most effective, pathogenetically substantiated therapeutic effect on periodontal tissues.
