Some linguistic parameters of document linguistics are discussed in the article as including types of documents, their functions, text organization peculiarities and realization of text categories. The characteristics and functions of a thesis abstract as a secondary scientific document are examined; the peculiarities of speech-pattern organization of its text in different chronological periods are defined.
