Concepts of urban space as a humanitarian accent of urbanism

The article is devoted to the current state, trends and prospects of conceptual development of the topic of urban space. As the main vector and the main content of the latter, its humanitarian aspect is approved. Optimization of urban space is understood as a necessary condition and mechanism for the systematic solution of the problems of a modern city and improving the quality of life of citizens. In the light of the ambiguous nature of the processes of deurbanization, the continued growth of most of the largest agglomerations, the closest practical way out of the most acute contradictions of the modern urban order is seen in a radical increase in the area of green zones and public (pedestrian) spaces with the maximum possible expansion of their social functionality. The concept of combined space underlying the most well-known urban projects of complex renovation is considered as a promising source of humanitarian-focused engineering and architectural solutions.
