The author draws attention to the indicators relating to the number of people who are crime victims. It is noted that there is a high probability that any of the residents of our country can become a victim of criminal offences more than once in a lifetime. It is clear that the victim has a very significant set of rights, and that law enforcement officials and judges are effective mechanisms for their protection. The rights and legitimate interests of victims involved in criminal procedure are not sufficiently protected. It is proposed to pay attention to the need to develop the concept of victims’ rights forensic protection and the author's vision of its structure and development prospects is outlined. It is summarised that the development of theoretical knowledge within the framework of the above concept will enrich the science of criminalistics, and the implementation of relevant applied recommendations will contribute to the real ensuring of the rights and legitimate interests of victims, including by ensuring the level of their involvement and activity in criminal procedure.
