Concepts MANN and FRAU: the property aspect

The concepts MANN and FRAU embrace most various spheres of the modern German language and culture, including property relations. Words and proverbs that represent the concepts MANN and FRAU have been analyzed. As a result, some asymmetries have been found. Traditionally, property and property status are considered more significant for men as for women. Such asymmetries are probably relevant, given different status of men and women in European and German society and culture.
