The article examines the concept of ethnic identity of literature, which is the essential foundation for the literary-critical methodology of Ju. I. Seleznev. Particular attention is paid to the justification of ideological and practical relevance of this concept for a critical assessment of both general trends and individual works of modern Russian literature.
