In this paper, we consider the concept of a “one-dimensional” man, developed by the German philosopher and sociologist Herbert Marcuse and having a strong influence on the movement of the new left and the student movement in the West of the 1960s. The concept of "one-dimensionality" of modern people living in the totalitarianism of a consumer society has become the first characteristic of a new social type of people - people of "one-dimensional", whose multidimensionality is becoming a thing of the past.
