Dairy specialization and placement in the Russian Federation: concept of development

The article substantiates the expediency of territorial specialization in dairy cattle breeding in some economic regions and explores the factors and challenges for the development of specialization and placement of dairy cattle. The urgency of solving the problem of milk production increases with the implementation of the state program of development of agriculture and regulation of markets of agricultural products, raw materials and food for 2015-2025. The author comes to the conclusion that the solution to the problem of improving the rational allocation and effective specialization of dairy-product subcomplex is a complex and multifaceted process involving a change of production structure of farms as well as areas of natural economic zones, requiring the substantial investment and state support.
