The article discusses the results of the analysis of international experience in the development of mutual insurance. Data on the scale of its development in Russia and the Republic of Bashkortostan are presented. Preconditions for the development of the regional mutual insurance system are identified. The principles, goals and objectives of its formation are formulated.
