The state of the system of values of society at the present stage of the formation of the global world order is studied The signs of imbalance of this system through the progress of the selfish-ecological behavior of society, aimed at increasing the consumption of irreplaceable resources in the absence of global institutions of economic restraint of global actors of the global economy - the main countries-suppliers of energy, land and water resources, as well as transnational companies - transformers of these resources . Dynamic processes of global economic integration aimed at a sharp increase in the production and consumption of material resources, which significantly deplete non-renewable natural resources, give rise to a number of social and environmental crisis conditions that can lead to irreversible consequences in the sphere of the planet’s resource and environmental balance. The current state of globalization contains an internal development conflict and a mechanism of self-destruction, the essence of which is to bring to the limit the system of monopoly exploitation of the world through an artificial demand mechanism, inflating the needs and consumption of material, financial and intellectual resources in an extremely limited circle of countries - hegemons.
