This article offers an expanded view of the concept of robust political economy (RPE) as a potential response to contemporary challenges emerging in the global economic system. The use of political-economic paradigms in the process of economic development requires an adequate test of “robustness” – that is, adaptability and viability in conditions of non-compliance with the basic assumptions of rationality and benevolence of individuals. Such political-economic constructs as entangled political economy (EPE) and the market as a moral imperative of fair and just exchange (MMIFJE) are analyzed. In conclusion, theoretical and practical conclusions are formulated that support the idea that the transition to more flexible and sustainable economic structures can ensure long-term socio-economic growth in the context of continuous change.
