The concept «love»: its dominant components in public mindset

The article reveals the dominant components of the concept “love” in the minds of young people in modern Russian society. The study presents an analysis of the associations correlated with the concept of “love”. The analyzed data were obtained as a result of the survey of the recipients at the age of 18 to 35, who answered the question: what associations come to mind when they think of the word “love”. The theoretical basis of the experiment is the of philosophical and cultural material, revealing a different conceptual understanding of the notion “love” by the representatives of Western and Russian cultures and the linguistic study of the concept previously conducted by the author. The results of the study allowed to identify the factors determining the degree of impact on the recipient and understand to what extent the modern processes of Americanization and Europeanization of our society have affected the change in the national-value orientations of the person.
