Conceptualization of ethnic economies: instrumental and methodological analysis

The article presents the problems of conceptualizing ethnic economies. In order to determine the fundamental and applied nature of knowledge about the economic essence of the phenomenon of ethnic economies, an instrumental and methodological analysis was carried out. The author summarized the material on the topic under study, analyzed dissertation research and scientific schools of ethnic economies. The wavelike nature of interest in ethnic economies issues has been substantiated. In order to form a generalized category «ethnic economies» used in the social sciences, a content analysis of scientific articles exploring this phenomenon has been carried out. An analytical analysis of the number and frequency of words used by scientists in the text of scientific works, their relevance and proportion are carried out. The results of the application of the data analysis method made it possible to identify the mesoeconomic aspect of research traditions. In conclusion, on the basis of metadata, a tag cloud was formed, which constitutes the conceptual essence of ethnic economies.
