Concept of criminalization as a social phenomenon

The article considers the concept of criminalization as a social phenomenon. As a working concept "criminalization" acts as a social system phenomenon generated by social contradictions and sociocultural heterogeneity of a society and is characterized by negative deviating behavior which has reached the degree of public danger defined by the criminal law.
