Basic concepts of procurement

The article presents a theoretical overview of the concept of procurement. Also, the author of the article proposed his own definition of procurement activities. The main objectives of the procurement activities are considered, which include: determining the demand for material resources, researching the procurement market, selecting suppliers, procuring, controlling supplies, preparing a procurement budget, coordinating and systematically interconnecting procurement with production, marketing, warehousing and transportation, as well as suppliers.
