The concepts of culture in the role of signs of culture: structural and methodological approach

The focal point of the paper is a new model of the culture concept. Keeping the level approach to the structure of the concept introduced by Yu.S. Stepanov, the author suggests analyzing and distributing the culture of participation, i.e. the existential connection to something different proposed by A.A. Pelipenko, based on the repeated cultural and communicative formulas (proverbs, sayings, quotations). The received historical and newest relevant levels of the concept of culture fixed in the participation further correlate with the culture codes (actional, zoomorphic, phytomorphic, spatiotemporal, sacred, demonic, material) developed for Russian culture by a team led by V.N. Teliya. The proposed procedure of the analysis allows one to describe cultural patterns of communicative formulas that function in a sociocultural space. The analysis of the patterns containing the representable values provides an opportunity to understand the foundations of culture at a deeper level. The structure of understanding and interpreting the cultural standard formed the basis of the triangle of understanding the repeated cultural and communicative formulas, which was developed on the basis of the triangle of understanding the text by A.V. Sokolov.
