In this article, a theoretical analysis of the concept of "competition" is carried out and a characteristic of competitiveness is given. The objectives of the formation and development of strategies to improve competitiveness. The factors of creating a strategy to improve competitiveness and the main provisions of competitiveness as a factor of strategic development are identified.
