The article pays special attention to the consequences of Russia's accession to the WTO, namely, the decrease in the competitiveness of agricultural products. The main reason of the low competitiveness is decay of the material and technical base due to the lack of state support. In the conditions of WTO the mechanism of domestic producers' protection becomes more sophisticated due to the reduction of customs duties.
