The conservatism versus modernization: Korean basic human values under conditions of globalization

The present article contains the new data on Korean basic human values collected in the field research held in the Republic of Korea in 2009 by the author. The general approach of the investigation was based on S. Schwartzs methodology. The obtained data is analyzed in the frame of contemporary socio-cultural development of the modern Korean society and reflect the contradictions between conservatism and modernization under globalization processes.
