Konstantin Aksakov: fanatical slavophile or critical thinker?

The author considers not so much the content of the Slavophile views of K. Aksakov,but rather the positions he expressed in his editorial and scholarly work and hismethodology when working with historical and literary sources. The categorical na-ture of his opinions reveals the well-formed nature of his views and can be interpretedin a polemical sense, but nonetheless requires a deeper analytical understanding ofthe suppositions found in Aksakov's work.
