The paper is devoted to the Constitution of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen adopted in 1854. It’s pointed out that this Constitution was not a subject of investigation in the national historiography. The paper specifies the historical context, in which the Bremen Constitution of 1854 was adopted, considers its basic provisions and defines its peculiar features. Adoption of the Constitution of Bremen of 1854 was a milestone marking the end of the Revolution begun in 1848. The liberal constitution was adopted in Bremen in 1849. The adoption of a new Constitution in 1854 in Bremen was an expression of conservative tendencies prevailing in Bremen Constitutionalism.
