Constitutional and legal properties of the authority of population of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation

The article discusses various approaches of modern legal science to understanding of the category «people as a source of power». Provisions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, enforcing the authority of the Russian people not only at the federal level of the Russian Federation, but also at the regional one, are analyzed. It is noted that the source of state power of a subject of the Russian Federation is the people of the Russian Federation. The authority of the people of a constituent entity the Russian Federation is limited and not so wide as the authority of the multinational people of the Russian Federation.
