Constitutional foundations of American legal system

In the article the author analyses such constitutional foundations of American legal system as the principle of separation of powers and the principle of federalism. These principles, which are traditionally examined as the principles of state power organization, in this research are characterized from the point of their influence on main features of American legal system, in particular on the system of sources of American law. The author concludes that these constitutional foundations predetermine combined nature of American legal system.
