The construction of social confidence among young people during the process of solidarity values development

The paper addresses the issue of social confidence development in the modern Russian youth. This phenomenon can be interpreted as a mechanism for reducing the social uncertainty in order to interact harmoniously with other people. The construction of confidence is possible in case of promoting solidarity values which help the young generation to be fully engaged in public life. To promote values conducive to the social confidence development, the research proposes involving the leaders of public opinion in this process, using the most effective communication channels, including the web-based technologies, and applying methods for shaping personal mentality and managing the value-oriented activities. A sociological survey conducted in the Belgorod region in 2017 investigated the perception of the solidarity community’s values by school students, students, and young employees.
