The brief performance of partial discharges (PD) and reasons of their origin in power oil-filled transformers are given. Characteristic inaccuracies of power transformers 110 kV are shown. Results of location of PD with the acoustical method with help of the portable device "AR - 700" are presented. The conclusion of expediency of further diagnostic observations of Central Electric Station transformers with application of fixed instruments of PD analysis is made.
