Controller in the public sector: necessary competencies and development prospects in the current economic environment

The article presents a brief overview of the current state of controlling development as a subject of research of domestic and foreign scientists. Modern economic conditions significantly affect the activities of public sector entities. The challenges facing the state require effective management decisions, fulfillment of tasks and quality strategic planning. One of the directions of improving the quality and performance is the creation of controlling services in the subjects of the public sector. At the same time, specialists play an important role in the successful integration of the service. The article is aimed at the formation of requirements for a controlling specialist, including labor duties assigned to the controller, as well as knowledge and skills necessary for the implementation of this professional activity. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the proposed competencies can be integrated into the professional standard “Controlling specialist (controller)”.
