Correlation and regression analysis of factors affecting the amount of subsidies received by the subject of the Russian Federation

This article considers the distribution of the subsidies` volume received by the subjects of the Russian Federation depending on such factors as the tax revenues volume in the region-consolidated budget, the consumer basket cost and average monthly-accrued wages. A brief description of the difference between recipient regions and donor regions of the Russian Federation is given, as well as a list of them. The most significant socio-economic factors affecting the amount of subsidies received by the region are determined in accordance with the Budget Code of the Russian Federation. Pair correlation coefficients between the resultant and factor indicators are calculated. Multiple correlation and regression analysis of this issue is carried out, with a detailed description of the results obtained. Based on the conducted research, conclusions about the quality of the obtained correlation and regression model are formulated.
