Throughout the history of the development of philosophical and political ideas, thinkers had a different idea of how the state should look like and what place people occupy in it. A lot of directions have been formed, among which one can especially distinguish the ideas about the world without any distinctions, understood as an integral phenomenon. Such ideas about the indivisibility of the world and man as part of the whole are the basis of cosmopolitan worldview. This paper discusses the idea of cosmopolitanism, the prerequisites for its formation, as well as the reflection of these ideas in the philosophy of stoicism.
