Costume in the text as the aspect of nonverbal communication

Costume, as an important part of the personality and culture in general, often plays a decisive role in the process of interpersonal and mass communication, which should certainly be reflected in the text. But the communicative function of the costume is a little explored in the literary criticism. This article attempts to analyze details of the costume from the perspective of nonverbal communication. The article presents the most striking examples demonstrating the communicative function of the costume in the text.
