Crowdfunding as an alternative mechanism for investing individuals

In the scientific article, the issues of the essence of alternative investment are considered, its differences from classical investments are given. The definition and essence of such an alternative investment mechanism for individuals as crowdfunding is disclosed, its main types are described. The activities of crowdfunding operators that have recently appeared in Russia as an alternative investment tool for individuals are being analyzed. It is concluded that the crowdfunding platforms activities are a promising mechanism for alternative investments.
