Creative industry in the Russian economy: reality and potential in service activities

The trend of the post-industrial economy towards the development of creative industries is relevant because it allows creating high-tech jobs, increases the efficiency of service activities, creates competitive advantages for firms, and improves the quality of customer service. One of the first fundamental research in the field of creative industries was the work of John Hawkins, based on which he later wrote university textbooks on the topic. This study analyzes the creative industries in the UK and their role in the economic development of the country. In subsequent years, a lot of research has been done on the creative industries in various countries around the world. The key research is in the field of influence of creative industries on social and economic development. In Russia, research in the field of creative industries is also being actively conducted, in particular, by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the S. Yu. Witte Russian Economic Society. Their employees conduct regular research on the Russian creative industries market. However, the concept of creative industries has not yet settled down. There are issues with the identification of creativity, which are discussed in the article. Creativity factors are revealed. The author proposes the scheme for identifying creative workers and organizations in the service sector in relation to the creative industry in the post-industrial economy. A significant economic potential for the development of creative industries in Russia has been established. Creative service industries occupy a significant place in GDP: they create new jobs, develop services, provide opportunities for creative abilities in the regions, and have export potential. The creative industries of Russia have a significant potential for development in the service sector, catering services, hospitality, tourism, car service and other areas of the population's life.
