Cremation on funeral ceremony of Telengits (in materials of ethnographic supervision)

Altay people has kept ancient features which leave the roots in a Middle Ages in the culture. Special interest causes a funeral ceremony tеlengits in which there were various forms of funeral ceremonialism and among them custom of burning died. The basic data on this custom meet in ethnographic descriptions of scientists and travellers XIX-XX century. The most detailed description has left in V. V. Sapozhnikov's notes which in deserted yurtе on the river Ak-hol has found out remains of the wife of the shaman. The body of the woman has been burnt on a funeral fire in the spring, and the collected ashes should bury only in the autumn. V. V. Sapozhnikov's supervision enable to draw a conclusion that tеlеngits bodies of people burnt on a funeral fire in two stages buried. The same custom is known on the Chinese written sources at ancient turks and Yenisey кirgizs.
