Flint accumulations as structural element of the site Zaraisk B

In 2006-2011 excavations were carried out at the site Zaraisk B, the latest one of the Kostenki-Avdeevo culture. The site consists of one non-disturbed layer with preserved planigraphic structure, lithologically related to the upper buried soil. Specific features of everyday life and economic activity concentrated within specially organized areas were reliably traced. Technological analysis of the collection shows consistent operations of primary knapping techniques. The process was supplemented by wide-scale repair of flint tools. The investigated collection of stone artefacts totals over 3 thousand flint objects obtained from the area of 200 sq. m.
