Criminalistic classification of economic crimes committed on railway transport and transport infrastructure facilities and its role in the formation of private forensic techniques

Introduction: the author reveals the features of the criminalistic classification of economic crimes committed on railway transport and transport infrastructure facilities. Materials and Methods: the materials were monographic studies and analysis of investigative and judicial practice from 2010 to 2021. The methods were dialectics, analysis, deduction, and the legal method. Results: the systematization of economic crimes committed on railway transport and transport infrastructure facilities on criminalistically significant grounds was carried out for the first time. The result obtained in the form of a forensic classification was important for the formation of forensic characteristics of crimes and the development of private forensic techniques. Discussions and Conclusions: the analysis of investigative practice shows that the peculiarities of criminalistic situations in the investigation of economic crimes committed on railway transport and transport infrastructure facilities allow us identify certain groups of crimes based on criminalistic characteristics. The systematic study of the criminalistic features of this group of crimes allowed us form a criminalistic classification of crimes that complements and improves the criminal law. The purpose of the obtained criminalistic classification of economic crimes committed on railway transport and transport infrastructure facilities is the basic basis for the development of methodological recommendations for the investigation and prevention of crimes of certain types included in this group; an indicator of the correct understanding of the essence of the events under investigation, competent construction, selection and application of forensic technical means, tactical techniques during investigative activities.
