Criminalistic features of the identification of persons who have committed the distribution of materials with pornographic images of minors on the Internet

This article examines the criminalistic features of the identification of persons who have committed the distribution of materials with pornographic images of minors using information and telecommunication technologies. The author offers criminalistic recommendations on the establishment by the preliminary investigation bodies of persons committing crimes related to the circulation of materials with pornographic images of minors on the Internet in various investigative situations complicated by the factor of the realized concealment of the identity of the subjects of such crimes and their locations. In conclusion, the author concludes that the successful activity of the preliminary investigation bodies in identifying the person who has committed the distribution of child pornography on the Internet, other circumstances of the mechanism for committing such crimes, largely depends on a competent and timely assessment of the current investigative situation, high-quality versioning work, planning the investigation and implementation of a complex of investigative actions and operational-search measures. A special and important role is played by the collection and analysis of auxiliary forensically significant information about the identity of the offender and his possible location according to various open data that can be obtained from social networks and other Internet resources.
