Criminological and psychological characteristics of the trafficker’s personality

Бесплатный доступ

Currently, human trafficking is one of the most dangerous and profitable forms of organized crime, thereby acquiring the character of transnational crime. At the same time, one of the means of human trafficking is the smuggling of migrants. There is virtually no statistical accounting of this type of crime in Russia, which is due to a number of factors. The personal characteristics of the trafficker and the victim have a significant impact on the disclosure and investigation of crimes in this category. Unfortunately, no agency in the territory of the Russian Federation has accurate data on the scale of the acts committed and the number of victims. When developing a typology of persons committing crimes, various approaches can be used. Effective international cooperation and interaction with law enforcement agencies of other states provide a fundamental role in the fight against trafficking, but there is no clear mechanism of counteraction.
