Criminological features of violent penitentiary crimes of minors

Introduction: the authors focus on the analysis of criminological features of violent juvenile crime in Russia, consider the growing crime rate in correctional facilities, study factors that contribute to violence of juveniles sentenced to imprisonment. Materials and Methods: the authors use the method of statistical analyses of data on violent juvenile crimes committed by the under age detainees, the method criminological prognosis, dialectical method. Statistical data of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service, scientific works, and Internet sources are the empirical bases for the study. Results: based on the results of a study of the criminological features of penitentiary violent crimes of minors authors come to the conclusion that it is necessary to improve the system of measures to prevent criminal aggression of convicted educational colonies, which requires changing the conditions of their detention in places of deprivation of liberty. Discussion and Conclusions: taking into account the results of a study of juvenile penitentiary violence, characterized by a certain level of latency, personality traits of juvenile convicts, as well as the specifics of the system of serving a sentence of imprisonment, the need to introduce effective individual preventive work with convicts, to strengthen psychological control over the dynamics of the state of minors at all stages of serving a sentence, is substantiated, formation of a systematic personal approach to the process of their resocialization.
